THE OTHER SIDE Two worlds share one seam. On the near side it is night and the travellers are pale; time runs forward. On the far side it is day, the travellers are dark, and time runs backward — the same wind, remembered in reverse. Each traveller carries a longing that swells and fades like a tide. When it swells enough, they press against the membrane and pass through, becoming their own negative: same path, other colour, other clock. The seam shivers where they cross, then heals. Where someone passes, a drop of their old sky bleeds through, and quickly closes — the membrane keeps no more than a handful of wounds open at once. Nothing here is separate. Every figure on one side casts a faint ghost at its mirror point on the other — the one it would have been. Watch a single mote for a while. Eventually it will leave you, and arrive.

The code cleanly implements most of its own metaphor — mirrored wind fields, a capped-wound membrane, and mirrored ghost trails are all genuinely present and mechanically sound, not just claimed. The weakest link is the poetic closing claim about motes 'arriving' somewhere meaningful, which in the code is just an ordinary random respawn — a small overstatement rather than a fabrication.
